Vertt, a ride-hailing startup based in Switzerland, was using Microtica’s CI/CD automation solution but had little awareness of AWS cost optimization opportunities. The team mainly checked AWS Cost Explorer and billing occasionally, but they did not regularly review unnecessary non-production spending or have dedicated DevOps support to manage it.

Vertt activated Saving Schedules on its development and staging environments, turning off resources like RDS, EC2, and ElastiCache when not in use. As a result, each non-production environment delivered 68% savings, RDS billing alone dropped by around 40%, and overall costs stayed within budget with only 1–2% monthly variation.
