A Microsoft Teams Case Study
Yokogawa Electric Corporation, seeking to modernize its on‑premises IT environment, faced slow email and file access, small 500 MB mailboxes that required manual archiving, and limited remote‑worker access. The company moved to Microsoft Office 365 and adopted Microsoft Teams as its primary chat‑based workspace to speed communications and support more flexible, mobile work.
With help from the Microsoft FastTrack service, Yokogawa migrated to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and rolled out Microsoft Teams, plus Skype for Business. The changes delivered faster email and file access, better remote collaboration, reduced travel through web conferencing, and high adoption—about 60% of employees using 300 Teams—with instant messages averaging under one‑third the length of emails; the company even began reselling Office 365 to customers. Microsoft Teams was credited with dramatically improving information sharing and response times across the organization.
