A Microsoft Teams Case Study
Three UK, a large United Kingdom mobile provider, faced the challenge of rebuilding its IT infrastructure and adopting agile ways of working to stay competitive across three offices and 324 retail stores. To support distributed teams and faster product and service innovation, Three UK adopted Microsoft Teams as part of its Office 365 rollout to give employees a unified, cloud-based collaboration platform.
Microsoft Teams workspaces—integrated with Office 365 apps like Planner, OneNote, SharePoint Online, Skype for Business, and Power BI—were used to create small virtual “circles” for project-based agile teams, driving rapid, natural adoption of Office 365. The Microsoft Teams-enabled approach increased Skype for Business calls from about 2,800 to 3,800 per month, improved cross-time-zone handoffs, boosted transparency and accountability, and delivered cost and security advantages over the previously trialed solution.
