Sutter Health - Customer Case Study

Sutter Health, a not-for-profit California health system with 24 acute-care hospitals serving more than 100 communities and roughly 52,000 employees, needed to reduce the time clinicians spend interfacing with technology and to standardize secure communications across a dispersed organization. To tackle security, compliance, mobility and collaboration challenges, Sutter adopted Microsoft Teams as part of a broader Office 365 rollout (including Exchange Online, Enterprise Mobility + Security, Skype for Business and Intune).

Using Microsoft Teams and the Office 365 suite, Sutter centralized email with Exchange Online, deployed Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection, piloted Office 365 Video for training, and used Skype Meeting Broadcast for virtual town halls attended by more than 2,000 employees; they also plan to manage about 65,000 mobile devices with Intune. The Microsoft Teams–centered solution improved security and mobility, strengthened cross-site collaboration, reduced reliance on network drives, and is helping free staff to spend more time on patient-focused care.
