Southwest Local School District Maps a Bright Academic Future for Ohio Students With Online Productivity Tools

Southwest Local School District faced inconsistent technology and inventory management across classrooms that hampered learning continuity as students moved grade to grade. To standardize its environment and boost student engagement, the district adopted Windows 10 devices and Office 365 tools — including OneNote and Microsoft Teams — and began issuing a laptop to every student in grades 5–12.

The district used Microsoft Teams along with Office 365 and Microsoft Intune to deploy and manage 2,600 touchscreen laptops, streamline assignment distribution, and enable collaboration and personalized learning. As a result, teachers are more organized, students complete and submit work digitally with fewer lost assignments, and engagement and productivity have increased — with plans to expand Windows 10 devices to all K–4 students.
