Sega Sammy Holdings Incestablishing Group-wide Communication, Promoting Employee Interaction in a Wall-less Environment With Team Collaboration Hub

Sega Sammy Group adopted Microsoft Teams to create a group-wide communication platform when it consolidated head offices into a new wall-less Tokyo headquarters. The company had been using a fragmented mix of tools (Microsoft Lync, Skype on‑premises and various chat apps), which hindered seamless collaboration, project work and information control; Teams (alongside Planner and OneNote as part of their Office 365 deployment) was chosen to address those challenges.

Microsoft Teams was rolled out starting with the Development Division and expanded via communities, quick‑start manuals and large information sessions. The Teams deployment boosted collaboration and reduced in‑person meeting time: more than 50% of staff at major group companies were using Teams within a little over a year (80% in product divisions, >80% in Development, >90% in IT), over 600 users joined directly after sessions, and managers now run many more concurrent projects (some up to 50), improving communication density and cross‑group unity via Microsoft Teams.
