A Microsoft Teams Case Study
NSW Department of Education faced the challenge of turning students’ enthusiasm for technology into meaningful STEM learning across one of the world’s largest school jurisdictions. To connect classrooms, share resources, and build teacher confidence at scale, the NSW Department of Education adopted Microsoft Teams as part of a broader Microsoft platform including Windows 10, Office 365, Intune, Minecraft: Education Edition and Xbox tools.
Using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint to create shared resource libraries, plus Intune for seamless app deployment and Windows devices for classroom use, the vendor helped the NSW Department of Education democratize STEM access across roughly 2,250 schools and 800,000 students. The program deployed kits (including 1,210 HP ProBook x360 and 110 HP Z VR Backpack devices), boosted teacher collaboration and confidence, expanded use of Minecraft: Education Edition and mixed reality, and enabled statewide sharing of lessons and tools that increased student engagement and future-ready STEM skills.
