Saratoga Springs makes a wise bet with Microsoft Teams and Windows 10

Saratoga Springs City School District in upstate New York needed a secure, easy-to-manage way to expand digital learning across eight public schools and better engage students and teachers outside the classroom. The district turned to Microsoft Teams (alongside Office 365 and Windows 10) to provide a single collaborative hub that would work on school Windows 10 devices while addressing concerns about student data privacy and classroom adoption.

The district deployed Microsoft Teams on more than 2,000 Dell Windows 10 devices—including a one-to-one program for roughly 500 sixth graders—and integrated it with OneNote and Forms to streamline assignments and communication. Microsoft Teams enabled quieter students to participate via chat, let teachers hold virtual meetings and share resources, and gave IT leaders a stable, secure platform; within a year after receiving a grant, the district reported more engaged students, more connected teachers, and greater confidence in data privacy and device management.
