Case Study: AIESEC Hungary achieves streamlined, corporate-style teamwork and a 40% drop in email/messenger use with Microsoft Teams

A Microsoft Teams Case Study

Preview of the AIESEC Case Study

Microsoft Teams corporate operation in a student’s association

AIESEC Hungary, the local branch of the global student association AIESEC (active in 120 countries), faced the challenge of running a corporation-sized operation—10 local committees across eight universities with over 600 members—while relying on fragmented consumer tools like Gmail and Facebook Messenger. Concerned about confidentiality, continuity amid annual leadership turnover, and the need for more professional, centralized collaboration, the organization turned to Microsoft Teams as its chosen vendor product.

Microsoft Teams (as part of Office 365) was rolled out with channel-based chats, integrated file access via OneDrive/SharePoint, desktop and mobile apps, and gamified training to speed adoption. The Teams implementation unified conversations, files and notes in one place, cut Messenger and e-mail usage by 40% in the first month, moved nearly 60% of internal communication online, simplified onboarding and knowledge transfer, and allowed AIESEC to track adoption through Office 365 analytics.
