Lilly envisions a workplace where internal and external collaboration help enable innovation and accelerate time-to-market for new medicines

Lilly (Eli Lilly & Co) needed to speed drug discovery and time‑to‑market while navigating complex regulatory, quality, and cost pressures and breaking down silos between lab and office environments. To support a workplace transformation, Lilly adopted Microsoft 365 cloud technologies—Exchange Online, Office 365, Surface Hub, HoloLens, Windows 10—and the collaboration platform Microsoft Teams to enable real‑time internal and external teamwork.

Using Microsoft Teams together with Surface Hub, HoloLens and Office 365 video and coauthoring, Lilly implemented "in‑lab collaboration" and enterprise collaboration workflows; Microsoft Teams is being piloted in roughly 300 projects worldwide. Microsoft solutions have already supported a fast Exchange Online migration of over 70,000 mailboxes in under nine months and delivered measurable gains in real‑time collaboration, document coauthoring, and cloud security/compliance—helping Lilly accelerate productivity and innovation.
