LEDVANCE, a global lighting supplier, faced an oversized, automotive‑grade IT landscape after its spinoff—around 70 racks across two Munich data centers and a complex SAP estate that needed a standardized, global application platform. To modernize and stabilize order processing and support digital transformation, LEDVANCE engaged Microsoft Teams (leveraging Azure Cloud Services, Microsoft 365 and Enterprise Mobility + Security) and partner Techedge to migrate and rightsize its corporate IT.

Under the Cumulus Project, Microsoft Teams’ Azure-based solution migrated more than 60 SAP servers and roughly 350 TB of data in under 18 months, enabling LEDVANCE to shut down 60 racks and 2,500 physical hard disks, move to pay‑for‑usage computing, and centralize development across Europe and Asia. The migration delivered significant cost savings, a leaner, more powerful IT environment, and paved the way for companywide collaboration through Microsoft 365 and upcoming OneDrive and Microsoft Teams tools.
