Internal communication at dm: Office 365 simplifies the exchange between employees

dm-drogerie markt, the German drugstore chain with more than 3,500 stores, needed to modernize fragmented internal communication and enable mobile, location-independent collaboration for store and headquarters staff. To meet this challenge the company adopted Office 365 F1 and mobile apps — including Yammer and Microsoft Teams — and equipped employees with 25,000 smartphones to provide on-the-go access to productivity tools.

Using Microsoft Teams alongside Office 365 F1, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online and Exchange Online, dm rolled out the solution via pilots, workshops and targeted change management (project started October 2017, scheduled completion spring 2019). The Microsoft Teams-enabled deployment produced simpler, faster communication between headquarters and stores, stronger feedback loops for sharing best practices, and mobile access to familiar Office apps—freeing time that employees now reinvest in customer service across the company’s 3,500+ stores.
