Case Study: Infosys achieves real-time analytics and 1–2 second data synchronization with Microsoft Teams

A Microsoft Teams Case Study

Preview of the Infosys Case Study

Infosys - Customer Case Study

Infosys, a global IT services and consulting firm with 199,000+ employees, faced a critical analytics challenge: transactional data on SQL Server 2012 required daily ETL runs to refresh the enterprise data warehouse, leaving dashboards a day out of date. To achieve real‑time analytics without impacting OLTP performance, Infosys moved to SQL Server 2016 with the support of Microsoft Teams, seeking a scalable platform that could deliver always‑on, near‑real‑time data for business decision making.

Microsoft Teams helped Infosys complete an aggressive migration to SQL Server 2016, implementing Distributed AlwaysOn / Distributed Availability Groups to replicate OLTP data to the data warehouse in real time and building the largest SQL Server 2016 cluster in India (2 cities, 3 data centers, 12 nodes, 16 instances, ~90 TB). The deployment reduced data staging time from one day to 1–2 seconds, eliminated routine ETL jobs, provided HA/DR for critical workloads, and set the stage for in‑memory/columnstore and R Services to enable real‑time analytics — all enabled through Microsoft Teams’ partnership and technical support.
