A Microsoft Teams Case Study
Engcomp, a small Saskatoon-based engineering services firm, faced an aging email server and no in-house IT admin as it grew, prompting a move to the modern workplace to improve collaboration and reporting. Working with partner WBM Technologies, Engcomp began migrating to Office 365 services—including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Power BI, Skype for Business—and planned adoption of Microsoft Teams to modernize communication and collaboration.
WBM implemented a phased Office 365 rollout (email migration to Exchange Online, Skype for Business adoption, SharePoint, and Power BI dashboards) and began introducing Microsoft Teams for persistent chat and teamwork. The result: employees gain anytime/anywhere access to data, increased digital meetings and instant messaging that reduce the need for in-person meetings, real-time financial and project reporting via Power BI, and stronger security and Canadian data residency through Microsoft’s datacentres—measurable improvements WBM monitors with Power BI and ongoing adoption of Microsoft Teams.
