Greek school improves student learning through educational technology

Avgoulea-Linardatou School, a long-established private primary and secondary school in Greece, faced fragmentation from using multiple open-source and third‑party communication tools that confused teachers and students and increased IT overhead. To modernize learning and reduce administration, the school adopted Microsoft technologies, notably Microsoft Teams alongside Office 365 and Microsoft Azure Active Directory.

Working with Microsoft, the school consolidated its digital learning on Microsoft Teams (with School Data Sync and OneNote Class Notebook), which streamlined workflows and freed teachers from administrative tasks. After two years, student marks rose by 1–2 points in key subjects, teachers gained about 25% more classroom time daily, 77% of pupils reported better collaboration, 81% prefer digital work, 54% formed their own study groups, the IT lead saved ~22 hours per month, and network costs dropped from €3,500 to €0.
