Escola Bosque students use AI to tackle real-world problems like bullying and environmental sustainability

Escola Bosque, a K–12 school in São Paulo, Brazil, wanted to engage students in real-world challenges—especially reducing bullying and advancing environmental sustainability—while driving digital transformation in the classroom. The school partnered with Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft Education solutions (including Microsoft AI, Azure Language Understanding Intelligent Service/LUIS, Minecraft: Education Edition, and Windows 10) to give students tools to create tech-driven, collaborative projects.

With help from partner Big Brain, students built an AI chatbot called “Uncle Bot” using Azure LUIS and QnA Maker and deployed it in the school’s Microsoft Teams hub and on the school website; students can add Q&A via Microsoft Forms. Microsoft Teams made the resource widely accessible, and school leaders report a significant reduction in bullying incidents and greater student awareness and responsibility. Students also used Paint 3D, Excel, and Minecraft: Education Edition to design and model a cistern that can capture 530 liters of water, showing clear, measurable environmental impact.
