Deploying technology to scale education in South Africa

Curro Holdings, a Johannesburg Stock Exchange–listed operator of private schools serving more than 50,000 students across South Africa, needed to scale secure device and identity management while coping with a shortage of qualified educators. To meet this challenge it adopted Microsoft Education solutions — including Intune for Education, Office 365, and Windows 10 — and integrated collaboration tools from Microsoft Teams to help deliver consistent, high-quality learning across campuses.

By deploying Intune for Education with Azure Active Directory and Office 365 single sign-on, Curro now manages thousands of student identities and more than 6,000 Windows 10 devices using 150+ Intune settings to keep devices functional and secure; device onboarding has been simplified so regular educators can enroll devices, reducing IT workload and speeding deployments. Microsoft Teams, synchronized via School Data Sync, further improved classroom collaboration — together delivering scalable, secure technology that lets students use devices at school and home while freeing IT to focus on innovation.
