A Microsoft Teams Case Study
Central Bucks School District, a large K–12 district in Pennsylvania, needed to scale a 1:1 device program and securely manage some 20,000 devices across 120 square miles. Facing a tight summer deadline to get 3,000 middle‑school laptops into students’ hands in two weeks, the district turned to Microsoft Teams as its vendor partner and used Microsoft Intune along with Azure Active Directory, Office 365, OneDrive for Business, and School Data Sync to move device and identity management to the cloud.
Working with Microsoft Teams, CBSD used Intune and Windows Configuration Designer to provision and enroll 3,000 laptops in two weeks, enabling remote cloud management, faster update deployment, and reduced admin overhead so IT could focus on projects that improve teaching and learning. The district also applied Azure AD conditional access to stop about 15 malicious sign‑in attempts per day overnight, automated user and class provisioning with School Data Sync, and is scaling to add thousands more devices annually while shifting storage and collaboration to OneDrive and Teams.
