Centra Health, a regional nonprofit healthcare system serving more than 380,000 people, faced the challenge of meeting expanding CMS quality-reporting requirements and shifting to value‑based reimbursement while giving clinicians timely, actionable data and improving claims and project collaboration. To address this, Centra adopted Microsoft 365 business intelligence and collaboration tools—most notably Power BI for clinical dashboards and Microsoft Teams for project and coauthoring workflows—alongside Office 365 security and mobility services.

Using Microsoft 365 (including Power BI) and Microsoft Teams, Centra implemented a Power BI Clinical Dashboard, Office 365 E5 security features, and Teams-based project workspaces and coauthoring; the result was a jump in overall quality compliance from 34% to 58% in nine months (a 24 percentage‑point increase), a 70% CMS quality rating in 2017, faster project delivery (an online provider directory launched in four months), and daily time savings in claims audits that translated to thousands of improved patient touches—and Microsoft Teams played a key role in accelerating collaboration and reducing manual errors.
