A Microsoft Teams Case Study
Bryant University, a private university in Smithfield, Rhode Island, needed to improve collaboration across 3,600 students and 265 staff who were using a patchwork of tools (Office, Google, Dropbox, etc.). To unify and secure its digital environment, the school chose Microsoft solutions—rolling out Office 365 across campus (including OneNote, SharePoint and Skype for Business Online) and planning to explore Microsoft Teams as an academic dashboard.
Bryant formed a faculty‑student committee, migrated the entire student body to Office 365, and paired the rollout with training and local advocacy to drive adoption. The unified platform boosted engagement—the revamped Innovation Center became one of the highest‑used classrooms within a year—and enabled remote participation for student athletes and traveling or ill students while improving productivity and data protection. Bryant continues to expand its Office 365 usage and is evaluating Microsoft Teams to further integrate academic collaboration.
