A Microsoft Teams Case Study
BP, a global energy company with 10,000+ employees, faced a large attack surface, legacy Windows 7 complexity, slow PCs, and growing cyberthreats that made secure, user-friendly work difficult. To modernize and simplify security and collaboration, BP adopted a platform approach centered on Microsoft 365 Enterprise E5 and Microsoft Teams as part of that solution.
Microsoft Teams, together with Microsoft 365 components (Azure AD, Intune, Cloud App Security, Azure Information Protection, OneDrive, Windows Defender ATP, Exchange Online, etc.), helped BP safeguard identities, detect risky authentications, enforce conditional access, and enable secure third‑party collaboration. The deployment reduced integration costs and complexity, improved threat detection (blocking high‑risk access), let employees securely store and recover files in OneDrive, and freed IT to spend less time on PC deployment, updates, and recovery—delivering measurable operational and security improvements across BP’s global workforce.
