Case Study: Food & Allied Group achieves unified cross-company collaboration and centralized knowledge with Microsoft SharePoint

A Microsoft SharePoint Case Study

Preview of the Food & Allied Group Case Study

Unified platform creates collaborative synergies across 20 companies

Food & Allied Group, a diversified Mauritian conglomerate of 20 companies (about 4,000 employees) with operations in Madagascar and Kenya, needed to unify communications and collaboration across its divisions. Continued growth made sharing corporate information, standardizing documents and enabling management–employee interaction difficult with disconnected systems, so the group sought an intuitive, easily customized platform to create synergies across its companies.

Partnering with FRCI, Food & Allied deployed Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 with SQL Server to build a cross-company collaboration intranet. The solution created 20 communities used by around 250 people, centralizing documents and knowledge, streamlining project management, increasing engagement and group identity, reducing reliance on email, and providing mobile access—with plans to add video-conferencing and other features.
