Saving time, saving money and saving lives with the cloud

Partners in Health (PIH) is an international nonprofit health provider working in 10 countries to bring care to the world’s most in-need populations. Facing tight budgets, remote and harsh field conditions, the need to share sensitive patient data securely across sites, and the requirement to communicate and mobilize quickly in crises, PIH needed a way to streamline operations and prove data security to partners and donors.

PIH deployed Microsoft cloud solutions—Azure, Office 365, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online and Skype for Business—to create a central, secure cloud clearinghouse and standardized communications. The cloud enabled mobile access, real-time collaboration, encrypted data and centralized identity management, cutting costs and saving staff time, improving emergency response and donor reporting, protecting patient information, and ultimately increasing PIH’s capacity to deliver life‑saving care.
