A Microsoft SharePoint Case Study
Eneco, a leading Dutch energy supplier serving 2.2 million customers, centralised about 3,000 employees in its open-plan Eneco World headquarters to boost collaboration—but staff struggled to find and reserve nearly 200 small meeting and concentration rooms. Employees were walking the 14-floor building or leaving paper notes on doors, and the default booking system didn’t provide the visibility or flexibility needed for internal and occasional external reservations.
Working with Microsoft partner Macaw, Eneco used Office 365 tools—PowerApps to build a user-friendly RoomFinder app, Flow to automate bookings and reminders, SharePoint to store reservations, and Power BI for usage analytics—to deliver the solution in about five weeks. The app enabled mobile reservations, reduced external meeting costs, increased room utilisation and cross-floor collaboration, cut development expense to roughly one-third of a previous platform estimate, and generated positive employee feedback and new ideas for further PowerApps projects.
