Uttar Pradesh Police, which protects 220 million residents across 75 districts and more than 1,500 stations, faced fragmented, underresourced emergency response with wildly variable Dial 100 response times—especially in rural and poor areas. The force needed to centralize and modernize dispatch and contact-center operations to deliver consistent, timely assistance statewide.
The solution was UP 100, a new statewide contact center powered by an end-to-end Microsoft solution portfolio that centralized call handling and dispatch. UP 100 processes about 100,000 calls per day, supports roughly 17,000 daily dispatches (up from 3,700), and has rapidly improved response times while expanding patrol capacity. The program has reduced crime, prevented robberies and nearly two suicides a day, raised citizen satisfaction to 82%, strengthened public trust, and cut opportunities for corruption.
