A Microsoft SharePoint Case Study
Bryant University, a private Rhode Island college of about 3,600 students and 265 staff, wanted to improve collaboration and better prepare students for the workplace. Faculty, staff, and students were using a mix of tools (Office, Google, Dropbox, social platforms), creating security, productivity, and consistency challenges as the school moved to more active, flipped-learning spaces like its new Innovation Center.
A faculty‑and‑student committee selected Office 365 (including OneNote, SharePoint, and Skype for Business) and rolled it out campus‑wide with targeted training and peer-based support. The unified platform, together with the Innovation Center, has increased engagement and flexible learning—enabling remote participation, streamlining collaboration, and better aligning student skills with employer expectations—while the university continues phased adoption and exploration of additional tools like Teams.
