The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), a large humanitarian nonprofit operating in 30 countries with about 6,000 staff, faced fragmented, outdated and sometimes unlicensed IT across 130 offices—hindering secure collaboration, scalability and training, especially in remote, connectivity-challenged locations like the Dadaab refugee camp.

NRC standardized on Windows 10 and Office 2016 and is migrating to Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive and Skype, enabling secure cloud collaboration, offline-to-online workflows and simpler ICT support. The move—migrating 5,300 accounts and bringing consistency to 30 offices and education centers—has improved security and compliance, freed ICT resources for growth, trained 800+ youth annually, reduced time and cost, and strengthened services and employment outcomes for refugees and host communities.
