Comprehensive website portal drives education initiatives

The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Seychelles, which oversees the nation’s primary, secondary and post‑secondary schools, faced a failing open‑source website that was frequently attacked by hackers, technically limited and unable to deliver the resources and communications pupils, parents and teachers needed to meet the Ministry’s “Icon of Excellence” goals.

The Ministry replaced the old portal with a SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise solution backed by SQL Server 2012, implemented by partner FRCI. The new platform is more secure, easier to maintain and mobile‑accessible, hosts individual school sites, supports teacher–student collaboration and centralizes content and services—helping the Ministry improve information delivery, reduce external maintenance costs and advance its broader education objectives, a change praised by senior leadership.
