British school uses digital tools to help students excel at learning and in life

Broadclyst Community Primary School in the UK set out to modernize learning and school operations so pupils gain real-world, 21st‑century skills while teachers can better engage, assess, and communicate with students and families. The challenge was to move beyond traditional teaching tools to create more dynamic classrooms, streamline administration, and deepen parent and global connections across a medium‑sized primary school.

Broadclyst implemented a 1:1 Surface Pro 4 program and a suite of Microsoft tools—OneNote Class Notebooks, Surface Hub, SharePoint video, Power BI, Forms, Excel, and Skype for Business—to enable collaborative, mobile teaching, data‑driven assessment, remote parent participation, and project‑based learning like programming and the Global Enterprise Challenge. The result is more interactive lessons, stronger teacher collaboration and analytics, greater parental engagement, and students who are producing media, coding, and developing practical business skills that boost motivation and outcomes.
