El Rio Health Serves Clients More Securely With Microsoft’s Cloud-based Tools

El Rio Health, a Tucson nonprofit that operates 14 clinics and serves roughly one in ten city residents, faced a growing challenge: protecting sensitive patient data while managing a patchwork of disparate security, collaboration, and productivity tools. To simplify operations and strengthen defenses, El Rio turned to Microsoft Project and adopted Microsoft 365 with the E5 security bundle and related cloud tools.

Microsoft Project implemented a unified Microsoft 365 solution—including Advanced Threat Analytics, Teams, Power BI, and Project Online—consolidating threat protection into a single dashboard with prioritized remediation recommendations, centralizing collaboration, and standardizing project and analytics workflows. The outcome was streamlined IT operations, stronger data protection, faster cross‑enterprise collaboration (Teams is now foundational for remote work), improved project delivery with Project Online, and data-driven action via Power BI that helped restore patient visits to nearly pre‑COVID levels.
