A Microsoft Project Case Study
The Itaú Social Foundation, part of Itaú Unibanco, manages dozens of not‑for‑profit social programs across Brazil but was hampered by labor‑intensive, spreadsheet‑based reporting, long delivery times and limited portfolio visibility. To modernize oversight and reporting, the foundation adopted Microsoft Project along with Power BI and Project Online to replace Excel and PowerPoint workflows.
By implementing Microsoft Project and Power BI, the foundation automated reporting (with dashboards refreshing every two hours), eliminated 160 hours of redundant monthly work and freed managers for higher‑value tasks. Those efficiencies let The Itaú Social Foundation expand its development pipeline from about 100 to 131 projects (adding roughly 30 projects per year) without increasing operating budget, improving portfolio health tracking and partner collaboration.
