Case Study: Scania triples successful project completions with Microsoft Project Online

A Microsoft Project Case Study

Preview of the Scania Case Study

Automotive giant Scania boosts European project management efficiency

Scania, a leading manufacturer of heavy trucks and buses, struggled with project processes that were overly reliant on paper and whiteboards and lacked a central way to coordinate activities across its European business. To modernize project and portfolio management, Scania adopted Microsoft Project, deploying Microsoft Project Online alongside Microsoft SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power BI.

Working with Microsoft Project (and partner inzagi), Scania implemented Project Online as an internal project-planning portal to give managers real‑time visibility and support data‑driven decisions. The solution tripled the number of successfully completed projects, improved on‑time and on‑budget delivery, helped Scania meet internal GDPR targets, and became a strategic corporate planning tool, with wider rollouts and a Power BI dashboard planned.
