A Microsoft Project Case Study
Aston Martin Lagonda, the 104‑year‑old British sports‑car maker, is executing a “Second Century” plan to introduce seven new models and scale to 7,000 units per year while preserving its bespoke quality. To accelerate launches across multiple sites and a global supplier network, Aston Martin Lagonda adopted Microsoft Project and the broader Microsoft 365 stack (including Project Online, Power BI, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and Azure) to modernize collaboration, data insight, and secure mobile working.
Using Microsoft Project’s Project Online together with Power BI, SharePoint Online and Azure, Aston Martin Lagonda centralized schedules, dashboards and documents, enabled real‑time communication, and hosted its customer Car Configurator in the cloud. The Microsoft Project solution lets program managers oversee up to 10 vehicle programs concurrently, optimize resource allocation across programs (managing internal resources that represent 20–30% of total costs), speed decision‑making with Power BI alerts, and improve site reliability — increasing production tempo while maintaining quality.
