TruGreen’s new take on technology—a catalyst for greener lawns and happier customers

TruGreen, the largest U.S. lawn care company serving more than 2.4 million customers, needed a digital transformation to drive growth, efficiency, engagement and self-service. TruGreen partnered with Microsoft Power Apps and the broader Microsoft stack—using Power Virtual Agents, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and Azure Cognitive Services (Computer Vision)—to create an AI-enabled virtual agent, mobile image recognition and a data-driven customer journey.

Using Microsoft Power Apps, the vendor delivered fast prototypes (one built in two days) and implemented an AI virtual agent to handle routine inquiries and automate back-end workflows, plus image-recognition in the mobile app to identify weeds/insects and surface knowledge-base articles or schedule technicians. The solution provided 24x7 self-service, freed call-center associates for higher-value work, accelerated app and website rollout, and scaled across TruGreen’s 2.4M customers and seasonal workforce (~13,000), improving responsiveness and associate productivity.
