Toyota improves efficiency and speeds innovation with Microsoft Power Apps

Toyota Motor Corporation needed a single, low-code/no-code solution to increase agility and reduce IT bottlenecks across multiple departments. To empower employees to build their own tools and streamline processes, Toyota adopted Microsoft Power Apps (with Power Automate) so citizen developers could create and deploy apps quickly without heavy IS intervention.

Using Microsoft Power Apps, Toyota established governance and a Center of Excellence, automated approvals with Power Automate, and has produced more than 400 apps—ranging from an employee look‑up to a QR‑driven facilities issue tracker. The program has saved hundreds of thousands of sheets of paper (thousands of dollars), cut data‑entry time by hundreds of hours annually, reduced application sprawl, and accelerated innovation by putting app development into the hands of employees.
