Case Study: Gulf Energy Development achieves enterprise-wide data-driven insights and faster app development with Microsoft Power Apps

A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study

Preview of the Gulf Energy Development Case Study

Thai energy firm powers its departments with business intelligence to drive growth

Gulf Energy Development, a leading Thai energy company, faced growing pains as it expanded into new markets and business pillars: disparate platforms, security inconsistencies, and data stored in silos prevented a holistic view of operations and slowed reporting. To standardize processes and build business‑intelligence capabilities, Gulf turned to Microsoft Power Apps and the wider Microsoft stack, including Azure, Microsoft 365 E3, Power BI, and Azure Information Protection.

Using Microsoft Power Apps alongside Azure and Power BI, Gulf implemented a virtual data lake, standardized processes, and deployed dashboards and mobile apps that moved analytics out of IT and into business teams. Eighteen months after rollout, departmental silos were broken down, the company supported secure work‑from‑home with nearly zero downtime, reporting was replaced by interactive Power BI dashboards, and development time and cost for apps were reduced significantly thanks to Microsoft Power Apps.
