A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study
Standard Bank of South Africa, the largest bank in Africa, needed a better way to replace manual processes built around Excel, email, and other disconnected tools. Since 2017, it has used Microsoft Power Apps and the wider Power Platform to build low-code solutions for finance, operations, HR, and other business needs.
Microsoft Power Apps helped Standard Bank create more than 1,500 solutions, supported by a Center of Excellence for over 1,500 citizen developers. Early results included an ATM inspection app built in 24 hours that reached more than 300 inspectors and generated over 5,000 reports each month. The bank later expanded into enterprise applications and is now exploring Microsoft Copilot Studio and other AI capabilities to support its employee service desk and other use cases.
