SNCF - Customer Case Study

Sncf, France’s national railway company with roughly 270,000 employees, needed to accelerate a company-wide digital transformation by empowering frontline teams to digitize processes while also scaling governance, training and monitoring across hundreds of business units. To drive this change and overcome cultural and organizational barriers, Sncf partnered with Microsoft Power Apps and the broader Power Platform as its technology choice for “digital for all.”

Microsoft Power Apps enabled Sncf to implement a Digital School, an organizational app catalog, governance and Power BI monitoring dashboards, and a center of excellence that pairs app makers with frontline workers. The program trained hundreds (738 in 2018), built a community of 2,500+ members, and delivered 150+ PowerApps with about 150 apps in production by the end of 2019, improving operational effectiveness and giving IT visibility and control while decentralizing solution creation.
