A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study
Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore), a large, research‑intensive university with a 200‑hectare Smart Campus and a 2025 cloud‑first vision, needed to future‑proof operations for hybrid learning and remote work while replacing legacy telephony and empowering a diverse user base across departments. To meet those challenges it expanded its Microsoft ecosystem—deploying Microsoft 365 (including Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Phone System) and using Microsoft Power Apps as the low‑code/no‑code tool to let staff and faculty build tailored solutions.
NTU implemented Microsoft Teams and Phone System for secure, enterprise‑grade collaboration and call routing, and leveraged Microsoft Power Apps to create department‑specific apps that improved productivity and adoption. The move eliminated physical phone infrastructure (reducing equipment and maintenance costs and international call charges), ensured continuity of teaching and operations during COVID‑19, strengthened security with MFA/SSO and encryption, and empowered users to drive digital change—positioning NTU for further cloud initiatives on Microsoft Azure.
