Seattle Visiting Nurse Association transforms vaccine delivery process using Microsoft Power Platform

Seattle Visiting Nurse Association (SVNA), a family‑owned community mass immunizer in Washington that administers about 40,000 flu shots a year, faced COVID-19 disruptions to its paper‑based, time‑consuming clinic processes and needed a fast way to run contactless, drive‑through and pop‑up vaccination sites. To modernize scheduling, registration and billing quickly, SVNA and partner Signetic adopted Microsoft Power Apps as part of a Microsoft Power Platform solution (using Microsoft Dataverse and Power Automate).

Using Microsoft Power Apps, Signetic delivered a Dataverse‑backed public registration website, a Power Apps mobile canvas app for clinicians, and a model‑driven admin app plus Power Automate flows—built in eight weeks and rolled out to 64 clinics. The Microsoft Power Apps solution kept SVNA’s 2020 vaccination total at 40,000 (same as 2019), reduced patient processing from ~20 minutes to ~30 seconds (about a 90% throughput gain), enabled sites delivering thousands of doses per week, saved over $50,000 in billing costs, and eliminated several seasonal billing roles while scaling clinician capacity.
