R3 Retail Development, a family‑owned project management consulting firm, needed a highly customized end‑to‑end solution to replace brittle Excel spreadsheets and an expensive CxAlloy subscription. The company required a dashboard of ongoing projects, purchase‑order and file tracking, automated milestone updates, and role‑specific security. R3 turned to Microsoft Power Apps (together with Power Automate and Common Data Service) to modernize and automate its project management workflows.

Confluent built a Project Portfolio app on Microsoft Power Platform using Microsoft Power Apps in just 120 hours, migrating data to Common Data Service and adding Power Automate flows for notifications. The app now supports more than 200 projects (compared with the prior 15‑project limit), centralizes files and device/IP tracking, enforces role‑based permissions, and automates dates and reminders—replacing the old system at roughly the cost of one year’s licensing and significantly improving communication, scalability, and operational efficiency.
