A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study

Preview of the Schlumberger Case Study

Prolific app maker ignites low code revolution at Schlumberger

Schlumberger, the world’s largest energy services company with 100k+ employees across 85+ countries, faced a need to accelerate digital transformation, decentralize app development, replace paper-based processes, and rapidly communicate health and safety information to a highly mobile workforce. To meet these challenges they adopted Microsoft Power Apps (part of the Power Platform) to empower citizen developers and local “Digital Cells” to build solutions at the edge of the business.

Using Microsoft Power Apps, Schlumberger’s teams created 650+ production apps with 10k+ monthly active users and 120+ citizen developers across dozens of countries. Notable solutions include the ActiveEurope fitness app (hit a 22,000 km target in two weeks and scaled to 60+ countries), the Coronavirus “Stay SAFE” app (built in hours, used in 80+ countries in 10 languages), and the G11 Mobile career-promotion app (used to promote 450+ engineers, saved over 2,000 hours and eliminated printing equivalent to ~120 trees). Schlumberger also integrates Power Apps with Power Automate and Power BI to measure value across 60+ solutions, driving rapid development and measurable business impact.
