Case Study: Nissin Foods achieves rapid in-house app development and fast product-info access with Microsoft Power Apps

A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study

Preview of the Nissin Foods Case Study

Nissin Foods Holdings adopts Microsoft Power Apps for insourced low-code development, creates a much-requested app in a flash

Nissin Foods faced high costs, long lead times, and limited responsiveness from relying on outsourced IT development while needing mobile tools for sales and customer-service staff. To insource low-code app development and speed delivery, the company adopted Microsoft Power Apps (part of Power Platform), leveraging its existing Microsoft 365 ecosystem to enable non‑programmers to build solutions quickly.

Using Microsoft Power Apps (with SharePoint Online and Exchange Online for data and email), Nissin Foods built a product‑information mobile app—supported by Avanade—with a prototype completed in 20 hours and additional features added in about five hours. The app lets field sales and customer‑relations teams search products, scan barcodes, view images, save favorites and email results, dramatically speeding on‑the‑spot responses; the solution launched in April 2021 and Nissin Foods plans to expand further insourced development with Microsoft Power Apps.
