MYTILINEOS streamlines large-scale logistics with Azure Custom Vision

MYTILINEOS, a large Greek industrial and energy company, faced frequent errors and delays from manual counting of aluminum slabs and billets during port loading. To solve this they turned to Microsoft technologies—using Azure Cognitive Services, Custom Vision for computer vision and also leveraging Microsoft Power Apps for related automation.

Microsoft Power Apps (with Microsoft Consulting Services and Azure) implemented a solution that analyzed existing dock camera feeds with Azure Custom Vision, using pre-built image models to accelerate development and detect forklift movements and loading anomalies. The system reduced loading errors to almost zero, sped up issue detection and resolution, freed workers from repetitive counting so they could be reassigned to higher-value roles, and enabled further automation (including Power Apps invoicing) and future expansion.
