Malaysian highway operator pulls into digital fast lane with Microsoft Power Platform

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PMB), Malaysia’s largest highway operator, needed to modernize slow legacy applications, eliminate paper-based manual processes, and enable mobile access for its workforce. To accelerate digitization and empower non-technical staff to create business apps, PMB adopted Microsoft Power Apps as part of the Microsoft Power Platform and integrated it with Microsoft 365.

Together with Microsoft, PMB ran three-day Power Lab hackathons and trained citizen developers to build solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, producing more than 30 apps in a year (including lane-closure tracking, spare-parts movement, and toll-refund reconciliation). The Microsoft Power Apps approach cut annual cycle time by 3,203 hours, made report generation six times faster (about 30 minutes to 5 minutes), shortened MVP delivery from months to weeks, and delivered significant cost and paper savings while empowering teams to scale digital processes.
