Magna International safeguards more than 100,000 employees against COVID-19 risk with the help of Microsoft Power Platform

Magna, a global automotive supplier with 346 manufacturing facilities and more than 100,000 employees across 28 countries, needed a fast way to keep production running while reducing COVID‑19 transmission risk. To avoid congested physical screening at plant entrances, Magna turned to Microsoft Power Apps (including Power Pages) to create an intuitive digital pre‑shift screening tool.

Using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Pages, Magna built and deployed a bespoke COVID‑19 screening app in three weeks, making it available to over 144,000 employees via web and the company’s employee app; screening data flows into Azure SQL and is analyzed with Power BI to quickly identify and follow up on at‑risk workers. The Microsoft Power Apps solution helped safeguard thousands of employees, maintain high output and productivity, and boost employee engagement, well‑being, and retention — with a measurable rollout to 144,000+ users and rapid time to value.
