Lerøy Seafood Group uses Power Platform to improve reporting and reduce costs by millions of dollars

Lerøy Seafood Group, a world-leading seafood company and the third largest producer of salmon and trout, was on an aggressive digitization path but struggled with disjointed data—manual reporting via email, spreadsheets and phone between fishing boats and the central office. To address this, Lerøy turned to Microsoft Power Apps and the broader Power Platform to centralize reporting and streamline data flows.

Using Microsoft Power Apps, Lerøy purchased more than 4,000 Premium Power Apps licenses and launched an automated Center of Excellence to govern development, provide dev/test/prod environments, and deliver training and support. One enterprise app that produces more accurate at-sea fish weight estimates has already saved $8 million, is used by over two-thirds of the company, and is expected to drive much larger savings as usage expands; Lerøy is extending its Power Platform footprint with Power Pages, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Copilot in Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
