A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study
Kingston Technology, the world’s largest third‑party memory manufacturer, faced an urgent need for greater agility after the pandemic exposed limitations in its Domino/Notes approval system — desktop‑only forms, poor UI, and unreliable cross‑region connectivity. To modernize approvals and enable mobile, collaborative workflows, Kingston selected Microsoft Power Apps as its low‑code platform to replace Domino/Notes.
Working with SoftwareONE Taiwan and its IT team, Kingston built a cloud‑based approval and workflow platform on Microsoft Power Apps (backed by Microsoft Dataverse and Azure AD), enabling non‑developers to create and maintain forms, enforcing MFA and role‑based security, and integrating with Teams and Outlook for real‑time updates. The new Power Apps solution sped development during POC, lowered developer workload, improved cross‑regional collaboration, delivered an estimated >50% productivity gain, and set Kingston on track to migrate about 80% of its processes to the platform.
