A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study

Preview of the King County Case Study

King County delivers critical services using Microsoft Power Pages

King County’s Department of Information Technology faced rapidly growing demand for citizen services, but many channels were bogged down by manual, paper-based processes and costly custom websites. To speed delivery and reduce complexity, King County turned to Microsoft Power Apps—leveraging Power Pages as part of a low-code, Power Platform–first strategy to modernize external and internal portals and integrate with Dynamics 365 and Dataverse.

Using Microsoft Power Apps, KCIT built over 200 Power Platform solutions and dozens of Power Pages portals that integrate with Dynamics 365, Power Automate and Power BI. Results included an Employee Giving Program portal built in 23 days that cut application time from more than 30 minutes to 10 minutes and drove a 43% increase in participation, a COVID-19 resource site added in two days to support 100 call-center staff, and deployment of Microsoft Vaccination Management via Power Pages that enabled nearly 80,000 appointment bookings—streamlining workflows and consolidating data in Dataverse.
