Kenyan company improves food quality from farm to fork with Microsoft cloud solutions

Farmer’s Choice, a large Kenyan meat processor and retailer, needed to improve food traceability, reduce waste, and eliminate manual errors across a distributed farm-to-fork supply chain. To address these challenges it has adopted Microsoft cloud solutions — including Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 Business Central and Azure — and is now exploring Microsoft Power Apps to further modernize processes.

By centralizing IoT-driven data capture and automation in Microsoft cloud services, Farmer’s Choice gained real-time visibility into procurement, production and inventory, cutting manual weighing errors to “virtually no errors,” speeding order fulfillment, and reducing IT running costs like server maintenance and storage. Microsoft Power Apps is being evaluated (using AI Builder) to automate customer order capture and sync with Business Central, which is expected to eliminate manual invoice entry, reduce errors and accelerate processing.
